Monday 21/01/2019 - Exploration of IBDP Subjects, in particular, the difference between Group 3 and Group 4 and how to access IBDP two-page unit outlines of all Group 3 subjects on offer with the aim being getting G10 students to choose their Group 3 subject for G11 and G12. 

 

Tuesday 22/01/2019 - Create a new WIX website that has a Home Page (with details and information about the Unit and who you are) + four pages (Criterion A | Criterion B | Criterion C | Criterion D).

 

Wednesday 23/01/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ explore https://uwcisak.jp/our-campus/virtual-tours/ and write and write about your thoughts, observations and discoveries on your website.

Monday 28/01/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ Find a virtual world(s) or tour(s) that interests you greatly and write about your thoughts, observations and discoveries on your website. Also, Mr Watson will work with individuals student to address "ITGS/IBDP suitability survey for Mrs. Abis".

 

Tuesday 29/01/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ with a partner "constructs a detailed research plan, which identifies and prioritizes the primary and secondary research needed to develop a solution to the problem independently" then transfer this plan to your website.  Also, Mr Watson will work with individuals student to address "ITGS/IBDP suitability survey for Mrs. Abis". (see image a.1)

 

Wednesday 30/01/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ Explore all the possible sites that could/should be addressed in Yokohama and be part of our Virtual World.

Tuesday 05/02/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ Target Audience Interview (10minute interview with a small group of grade 1 students to find out what they like, what they know about Yokohama, what they studied in class about the local area and their computer skills examined) 

 

Wednesday 06/02/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ write a report about your target audience and create a list of design specifications

 

Thursday 07/02/2019 ~ Criterion A ~ in a small group make a short video about one place in the school (target audience a new Grade 1 student) and insert to your website in the criterion A section (see video a.3 for an example)

Tuesday 12/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ With your partner/small group - create a https://www.powtoon.com/home/ about Anpanman World (for Grade 1). Complete in class today.

 

In your Process Journal (Wix Website) add these items:

  • Your Powtoons

  • Your thoughts and observations about powtoons, group work, anpanman museum and the virtual world project audience.

 

Wednesday 13/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ Create a map of Yokohama with explicit reference to KIDS PLACES OF INTEREST and MUSEUMS with https://www.google.com/maps/about/mymaps/ . THEN, if time permits, create a one day walking tour of Yokohama for families.

 

Thursday 14/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ Create three photo collages/galleries of three specific sites in Yokohama. 10min on each site and find high-quality pictures (10-20 pictures) and embed the collage/gallery in your WIX PROCESS JOURNAL.

 

Monday 18/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ Create a short VIDEO  - A short Virtual Tour of the the ICT Lab. Record - Edit - Insert into your website. (new partners) 

 

Tuesday 19/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ Create a map of Yokohama with explicit reference to MUSEUMS with:

 

 

Wednesday 20/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ Research METRO MAPS and compile a sort report about METRO MAPS and insert into your process journal website. Mr Watson will assess Criterion A.

 

Thursday 21/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ CONCLUSION - what are we going to create? Design Specifications. and write report on WIX and submit.  Mr Watson will assess Criterion A.

 

Monday 25/02/2019 ~ Criterion B ~ Tidy up B

7-8 >> The student:

i. develops detailed design specifications, which explain the success criteria for the design of a solution based on the analysis of the research

ii. develops a range of feasible design ideas, using an appropriate medium(s) and detailed annotation, which can be correctly interpreted by others

iii. presents the chosen design and justifies fully and critically its selection with detailed reference to the design specification

iv. develops accurate and detailed planning drawings/diagrams and outlines requirements for the creation of the chosen solution

Wednesday 27/02/2019 ~ Criterion C ~ Create a Detailed Plan

Stage 1) (10 min) Mr Watson and class will examine each one page plan and create a BEST VERSION

Stage 2) (10 min) Class will create a PLAN and JOBS LIST

Stage 3) (10 min) Insert BEST VERSION and PLAN and JOB LIST into WIX.

 

Thursday 28/02/2019 ~ Criterion C ~ In this lesson you will create a GANTT CHART. Picture that you are the only person in charge of your chosen task (e.g. create a video) and create a GANTT CHART with reference to TASK + RESOURCES + TIME. Use GOOGLE SHEETS and insert to your WIX Crietrion C page. How to make a GANTT CHART (see video below)

    • This field trip aims to address the HJIS need to provide a rigorous and challenging education and to nurture responsible lifelong learners by taking students into an enriching environment and collect data and increase their understanding and awareness.

    • On this field trip, students will be in small groups and this will enhance their leadership skills and team working skills.

    • On this field trip and through studying this unit of work - students will learn to be appreciative, confident, cooperative, curious, committed, creative, enthusiastic, empathetic, independent, respectful and tolerant.
