For Criterion A Strand I: Define a clear and highly challenging goal and global context for the project, based on personal interest

  1. Write a one-two sentence DESIGN BRIEF that can act as your clearly defined goal. What are you going to make/build/do? When will it be completed? Who will use it and test the finished product? What materials will you use? What is the purpose/function?

  2. Explain what skills you have now and how this project will increase your skills and clearly explain how this is a challenging goal for you. Clearly identify several skills.

  3. Explain your chosen global context then make clear connect to your projects. Make it very clear how your project is directly linked tot the global context.

  4. Clearly identify the topic/focus and provide evidence that this really interest you and you want to learn more about this topic.

For Criterion A Strand II: Identify prior learning and subject-specific knowledge consistently highly relevant to the project

  1. Clearly identify your prior learning - identify skills and what level you are at. Identify specific topics that are linked to your Project and explain your level of knowledge.

  2. Criterion D ii needs to link clearly to this section -- In Criterion A ii you paint a clear picture of you skill level and knowledge level... then in Criterion D ii you outline how your skills level has increased and your knowledge has increased. From A ii to D ii there should be clearly identified and measurable growth.

  3. Link your project to classes/course you have taken in the past (e.g. Design class I learnt about the Design Cycle; I have learnt piano for 4 years at Jenny's Music School and I and a level 3 and can play 14 songs of by heart, etc.)

For Criterion A Strand III: Demonstrate excellent research skills

  1. List, explain and identify a range of research skills - then provide evidence that you have developed/demonstrated each skill in your Personal Project.

  2. Explain one type of research model (find a model online) and evidence how you used it in the Personal Project report. (e.g. OPDL, MISO, The Big 6, CRAP or KLAS)

  3. Explain how each specific research skill had a positive effect on your Personal Project &/or you as a student.

For Criterion B Strand I: Develop rigorous criteria for the product/ outcome

  1. Create a list of specific assessment specification/criterion (e.g. #1 ~ I will make a video that will be 3-5min ~ justify why 3-5min time length was chosen ~ then how/when this will be measured).

  2. Explain who will test each specification/criterion, how each criterion will be measured/evaluated an justify each specification/criterion with research. (e.g. I will make a video that will be 3-5min -- this will be measured by my supervisor in May and if the video is between 3-5 this will be a PASS, otherwise it will be judged FAIL. According to XXX research 3-5min is the optimal time for a short video because YYY)

For Criterion B Strand II: Present a detailed and accurate plan and record of the development process of the project

  1. You plan needs a clear reference to TIME &/or your due-dates list. ((when will each task take place and how much time is allocated (23rd March | 2hrs)

  2. The emphasis is on your plan for your Personal Project ... creating the product and should be a how to build guide - a step by step guide &/or a to-do-list.

  3. Your plan should be able to be understood and followed by a third party.

  4. Task, skills and material should be address (sketch several ideas for the main character of my story book - sketching on paper, with pencils)

  5. Some notes about how the plan unfolded --- the reality and the adjustments that had to be made along the way.
